Will we see a Yeezy Boost 350 v2 release on October 14th?
Just days after The Yeezy Mafia announced that the ‘Beluga 2.0’ was releasing October 14th, they dropped another tweet saying the release had been postponed.
Well, what if this isn’t actually the case? Keep in mind, this article is meant to simply open your mind to a different possibility, not to discredit the Yeezy Mafia news source.
So, September 8th it was announced the release had been moved, but we aren’t alone in thinking that there may still be a Yeezy Boost 350 v2 release on October 14th.
@Benjaminkickz tweeted more than a week later that there would be a Yeezy release on 10/14. Fake news? Maybe, but we doubt it. Ben is known for his relationship with DJ Khaled and other famous rappers. He got into the game by securing and selling some of the most expensive and rare shoes to some well known people. It would not be surprising if he knew about this release well in advance.
Plugged Lab, a source for early information and leaks, also believes we will see a v2 release October 14th.
Now, there isn’t a ton of validity behind any of this. There have been sources claiming stores are already receiving pairs, but the skeptic would say Adidas would have announced the release by now. Well, surprise releases aren’t out of the ordinary in the world of sneakers, especially with Yeezys. Remember back in 2013 when Footlocker created temporary chaos with one tweet?
Now, this was short lived as they quickly took back the tweet saying there would be no release. Even still, we saw Nike do a surprise release of the Air Yeezy 2 Red October just 2 months later. Because this was so unexpected, people who just happened to be on their computer at the right time got to cop.
So, let’s assume there is a v2 release October 14th. Which colorway is dropping?
We already know the Yeezy Boost 350 v2 ‘Blue Tint’ and ‘Semi Frozen Yellow’ are expected to drop later this year, closer to the holiday season. Since most companies make more money in the 4th quarter than any other, it’s likely these two colorways will not be releasing any sooner. While a Yeezy release alone has little impact on Adidas’ total revenue, they certainly play a factor in driving hype to Adidas in general. This would be especially useful come the holiday season.
So, in the case of an October 14th release, what can we expect to see? After the Zebra 350 v2 re-release a few months ago, it isn’t out of the question that there could be a restock of a pair we’ve already seen, such as the ‘Bred’ or ‘Beluga’ colorway. The ‘Beluga 2.0’ could even end up actually releasing on its original date.
Even if we do see a Yeezy release on the 14th, we don’t know who will be releasing them. Ye’s shoes have dropped on just one site before, while other releases have seen dozens of stores get pairs. We will hope for a Footsite release so Project Destroyer can be utilized, but this could just be wishful thinking. There are a lot of possibilities for what could go down, including nothing.
One thing’s for sure, you shouldn’t rule out a Yeezy Boost 350 v2 October 14th release just yet.
